Lap swimming at home — what length do you need?

An Olympic lane is 82 feet. Most home swimmers don't need that. The NEXA 26 at 26′ × 12′ is enough for a fluid freestyle stroke and flip turns if you have the technique. The NEXA 31 at 31′ × 15′ adds five feet of glide and a wider lane. Both models have swim-jet compatibility — add the $9,900 swim jet and get resistance swimming in any length pool, essentially turning it into an endless-pool alternative.

Swim jet vs. endless pool — the real cost comparison

A dedicated endless-pool or swim-spa typically costs $20,000–$40,000 installed — and it's a swim spa, not a pool you can actually use for anything else. The NEXA 26 with swim jet starts at $73,900 + $9,900 = $83,800 total: a full-size gunite pool with Pebble Tec, Baja shelf, saltwater, automation — and resistance swimming. You're not giving up a yard for a machine.

Daily fitness, genuine luxury

Every NEXA lap pool includes LED lighting for early-morning or evening swims, phone-controlled Jandy automation so your pool is at temperature when you finish your run, and autofill so you're not topping it off manually. Pebble Tec is the interior surface because it holds up to heavy use — not a smooth plaster that rough-patches in two years.

Common questions

How long should a lap pool be for home use?

26–31 feet is practical for most home swimmers — enough for a full stroke cycle and comfortable turns. Add a swim jet and the length matters less.

Is a swim jet worth it?

If you swim for fitness 3+ days a week, yes. The $9,900 swim jet on a NEXA 26 delivers adjustable-resistance swimming in a pool that's also a regular backyard pool.

What's the difference between a lap pool and a regular pool?

Mostly shape — a lap pool is longer and narrower. The NEXA 26 is 26′ × 12′; the NEXA 31 is 31′ × 15′. Both include the Baja shelf and full feature set, not just a lane.

Does the NEXA 16 or 22 work for lap swimming?

The 22 with a swim jet works for resistance training, but for actual laps the 26 and 31 are the right fit.
